Who we are
Sereniti Health runs this website and the clinic at 9-11 Wellington Street, Gateshead, NE8 2AJ. We are the data controller for the information described here, which means we decide how it is used and we are responsible for looking after it.
If you have a question about this policy or about your information, email hello@serenitihealth.co.uk or call us on 0191 468 2548.
What we collect and why
- Newsletter. If you sign up, we collect your email address and, if you give it, your first name. We use them only to send you our newsletter. We do this because you have asked us to, which is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.
- Bookings. When you book, we collect your name, contact details, the treatment you choose and your appointment time, along with payment. We use these to arrange your appointment, take payment and send reminders. We need them to provide the service you have booked.
- Your health. Before some treatments we ask about your health, medication and medical history, because several of our treatments are not suitable in certain circumstances. Health information is special category data under UK data protection law. We only collect it with your explicit consent, we use it only to keep your treatment safe and suitable, and it stays confidential within the clinic team.
- When you contact us. If you phone, email or message us, we keep what you tell us so we can reply and help. We do this in our legitimate interest in answering your question, or because you have asked us to take steps before a booking.
- When you visit this website. Our hosting provider processes basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, so it can deliver the pages to you and protect the site from abuse. This is in our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
We do not use analytics, advertising tracking or profiling on this website, and we never sell your information.
Cookies and your device
This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies.
The only thing it saves on your device is a small note that you have read our disclaimer, so the disclaimer popup does not appear on every page. It stays in your browser, is never sent to us and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
If you book online, the booking system may use cookies that are strictly needed to complete your booking and payment.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with trusted providers who help us run the clinic and this website, and only as much as they need to do their job. They act on our instructions and must keep your information secure. They are:
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website and protects it from attacks.
- MailerLite, which stores our newsletter list and sends the newsletter.
- Our online booking system and Stripe, which take bookings and handle card payments. We never see or store your full card number.
- Microsoft, which provides our email.
We will also share information if the law requires it, for example with HMRC for tax purposes, or to protect someone’s safety.
Information stored outside the UK
Some of these providers store or process information outside the UK, for example in the European Union or the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered either by UK adequacy regulations or by contract terms approved for international transfers, so your information keeps the same level of protection it has here.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only your email address on a do not contact list, so you are never emailed again by mistake.
- Client and payment records: for six years after your last visit, to meet tax and insurance requirements. After that they are securely deleted.
- Messages and enquiries: for as long as we need them to help you, and normally no longer than a year.
- Website technical logs: kept by our hosting provider for a short period for security, then deleted automatically.
Keeping it secure
Every page of this website is served over an encrypted connection. Access to client records is limited to the people at the clinic who need it, and we choose providers who take security seriously.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to limit how we use it, or object to us using it
- ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere
- withdraw your consent at any time, for example by clicking unsubscribe at the bottom of any newsletter
To use any of these rights, email hello@serenitihealth.co.uk or call 0191 468 2548. There is no charge, and we will reply within one month. Some records, such as payment records, we have to keep for a set time by law, and we will tell you if that applies.
Making a complaint
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
This website is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children through it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information, we will update this page. The date at the bottom shows when it last changed.
